Skull I

Skull I is an experience of a doe deer skull. It is painted with hues of deep mars black, soft corn-silk and ochre yellows with hints of sepia browns. The background is an ombre from luscious cobalt turquoise to delicate salmon pink like a sunset in the heat of a dusty summer.

The Skull Collection rests at the center of Mira Helena’s body of work. An ode to silent remains, the Skull Collection is inspired by the animals that grace Montana and the West’s vast landscape.
